Location: North Ogden,UT,USA Member Since: Sep 17, 2012 Gender: Male Goal Type: Boston Qualifier Running Accomplishments: I started running in 2005 after highschool and almost out of college. I watched my brother complete a full marathon and I thought, man these people are awesome and I want to do this too! So I started training and completed my first Marathon in 2006. I have run 9 marathons and several half marathons since. I usually try to do at least one of each per year. Short-Term Running Goals: I want to keep running. I want to stay healthy enough to do this. Long-Term Running Goals: I would love to run in the Boston Marathon some day. I am currently about 9 minutes shy of qualifying for it. I Was very close to accomplishing this goal when I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis. I was training for a marathon and I was having a lot of pain and stiffness in my SI joints and left left. Eventually I was dx with A.S and It took me about a year to recover initally and get back into long distance running. At the time I could only run about 4-5 miles total due to pain and tightness. I have since finished another full marathon and half marathon. My goal would be to get good enough to run the Boston. Personal: I'm married to a wonderful women and I have 4 children. 2 boys and 2 girls. My 6 year old just ran his 1st 5k over the summer and he wants to do another race asap. So cute. I work in Nuclear Medicine and graduated from Weber State University. |
